Antony is a passionate gardener with a strong horticultural & design background having worked in the family nursery and garden centre business since 1977. He has travelled to various countries including New Zealand and Australia where he studied flora and fauna in their native habitat.
His first introduction to television was as a Wildlife technical assistant/adviser for the BBC’s Natural History Unit working on a range of programmes, including David Attenborough’s “Life of Birds” and the BBC's "Kingfisher" series. Other projects include filming the giant monitor lizards and pythons with Nigel Marven and his team in the Kakadoo, National Park in Darwin Australia
Antony began his television presenting career working as “The Garden Doctor/The Garden Guru” for BBC Breakfast’s ‘Good Morning with Anne & Nick’. Since then, he has presented numerous gardening programmes on both TV and Radio including, “The Great Gardening Plot” and “Potted History” for The Discovery Channel and guest presented for “Gardener’s World” on BBC2.
Combining his extensive knowledge of horticulture and design, Antony established his own design company ‘Gardens for Life’ in Hertfordshire in 1998 which he continues to run alongside his broadcasting career.
